Use your Second Career Benefits at CTS Canadian Career College!
The Second Career program in Ontario, Canada launched in June 2008 to help laid-off Ontarians train for new jobs in popular career fields.Second Career is a new program designed to help people who have been laid off and are currently unemployed or working less than 20 hours a week. The program will help unemployed workers who commit to a long-term training plan make the transition to new careers in growing areas of the economy.
Second Career can help an applicant with the costs of tuition, books, living expenses and other costs associated with the training to build skills for a new career.
Other Employment Ontario programs like Ontario Skills Development also provide support for training.
The Ontario Government can provide you with help in:
- Getting trained for a new career field
- Learning what types of jobs are in demand throughout Ontario
- Finding out about career fields that fit with your current skills
- Finding government funding to finance your training and education
To determine your eligibility under this initiative, you will need to talk with a counsellor at an Employment OntarioEmployment Ontario assessment centre.
